Supernova M99 DY Pro With High Beam
Available
Description
The Supernova M99 DY PRO is the world's first dynamo operated LED front light with high beam function and German road code approval. With its matrix of 11 LEDs and new control electronics the new M99 DY PRO produces light values up to 1000 lumens and 200 lux. Prior to this only high performance front lights for E-Bikes could achieve such values. As a result the classic mountain bike gains a stronger environmental focus as well as an equal level of safety in road traffic. Once installed the headlight is completely maintenance free. It can illuminate the way in front of you for years and its intensity is always optimally adapted to your speed. Light sensors switch to a special energy saving mode during the daytime with a clearly visible daytime running light. For this purpose the high beam and low beam diodes of the LED matrix are automatically mixed ensuring the perfect safety light during the day. Within a fraction of a second of entering a tunnel the headlight switches to a bright, dipped beam with a luminous flux up to 600 lumens

At night you can activate the powerful high beam function from a speed of 20 km/h; depending on the wheel diameter, which is signaled by an indicator LED in the high beam button. With up to over 1,000 lumens even rapid descents become a wonderful experience. With its 200 lux illuminance the headlight then warns of obstacles with ample distance. Curves are illuminated by the light shining high up even with a strong inclination of the wheel with the high beam function much better than with a low beam. This absolute world first Supernova light implementations has been authorised thanks to the exceptional permission of the Federal Motor Transport Authority which is granted to products whose functions are not yet described by a regulation but have already achieve a significant safety gain |

The elegant, pre forged and then high precision milled aluminum housing provides perfect protection and cooling for the electronics and bulbs. Supernova has so much experience with the durability of the housing that an unlimited 10 year warranty is given on the metal parts under all conditions of use. The tempered front glass is impact resistant and highly visually efficient and the UV resistant, PVC free cables withstand wide temperature swings, extreme cold and heat. All materials are carefully selected and subjected to strict quality control in Supernova's production facility in Gundelfingen near Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, to ensure that the luminaire retains its brilliance over a very long period of time, even with intensive daily use. The construction of all Supernova products are designed to last at least 10 years. Even after this time each individual part can be repaired or replaced. The assembly is powered by green electricity in Gundelfingen. With this headlamp you can travel around the world, go to work every day or have an exciting adventure vacation | |
Supernova were the first manufacturer to launch a legally approved high beam for bicycles. This is one of the most important innovations in the bicycle lighting industry since the German road code legislation. The high beam provides excellent range and also a great illumination which increases the safety of riders significantly. The approved bicycle lights now offer illumination for difficult terrain allowing the rider to more quickly percieve hanging brances, signs, junctions or poorly visible pedestrians; regardless of how steep and winding the trail is. The Supernova high beam has an extremely wide beam angle, thus ensuring excellent visibility of the surroundings |
|
THE ADVANTAGE OF HIGH BEAMS WHEN ILLUMINATING CURVES Supernova uses a special high beam with an extra large aperture angle. This provides light above the central light cone for improved illumination so that signs or hanging branches are much more visible. Standard front lights have a low beam that tilts to the side when cornering so that an essential part of the curve is no longer illuminated. The greatly increased luminosity of the Supernova high beam radiates far beyond the glare horizon and creates an excellent view of curves. This results in a much improved illumination of the trail when cornering. This creates an enormous gain in safety for the cyclist |

Low beam: Curve illumination with low beam | Significantly better curve illumination with the high beam! |
HIGH BEAM CAN COMPENSATE WHEN THE SUSPENSION FORK DIPS MTBs are known to have a particular problem: Because suspension forks have a long travel and dip when you brake, the range of the front light can be reduced up to 90%. Supernova’s special high beam is optimized so that a lot of light is available above the cut off line, ensuring that the fork movement is compensated for and the view of the path is maintained. When you ride through the city traffic to get to the trail, you can ride with the glare free low beam. As soon as needed you can switch on the high beam at the touch of a button |

M99 MATRIX MIRRORThe future is now! Based on scientific research by the Lichttechnical Institute at KIT and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy the M99 introduced a lighting technology that sets completely new standards in bicycle lighting. An LED matrix; controlled intelligently and combined with a highly complex facetted mirror consisting of 99 individually calculated surfaces; the M99 Matrix Mirror is designed for unprecedented brilliance. After years of development it has therefore become possible for the first time to pack highly potent automotive technology into the miniature format of a bicycle front light |

ALUMINIUM HOUSING Supernova use aerospace aluminum for their housings because it is not only super strong but also has the best heat conduction properties. The better the cooling the brighter the LED. In addition the housings are anodized, salt water resistant and defy the most adverse conditions. Extreme tests in all seasons and climates by ultra cycling athletes on the road with Supernova lighting prove their outstanding reliability and durability |

LED COOLING Supernova believes in high performance with the best possible efficiency. Cooling extends the service life significantly. The most important prerequisites for an ideal heat dissipation include a careful choice of material and sophisticated construction. For example, completely uninterrupted heat dissipation can only be obtained by a housing that is made seamlessly from a single piece of aluminium. In extreme situations, integrated heat sensors keep the headlight in an optimum temperature range. With extensive computer simulations, Supernova's engineers continue to find the most appropriate way to derive the heat from the LEDs. With more than twenty years of expereince Supernova's expertise can clearly been seen in this light |
